Watch Your Step!

We recently received an email from a client about how her Housekeeper accidentally used furniture polish on her wood floors instead of floor cleaner. The floors looked shiny and new, but the household quickly found themselves slipping and sliding all over the place. What looked like a beautiful new floor was really an invisible ice skating rink in disguise! While the family appreciated the effort their housekeeper put into her work and the results, they did not appreciate this mistake that could’ve been dangerous.
 
Here are ways this situation could’ve been prevented:

• If you are a Housekeeper and are unsure what a cleaning product is used for or the labels are hard to understand, do not be afraid to speak up and ask the family. Ask these questions. It shows that you are competent and are serious about doing your job accurately.
• Call or text if no one is home. Don’t do anything if you aren’t sure.

Fortunately this Housekeeper is still employed and has been given another chance. We wish more people were so understanding! However, the world is not a perfect place and a lot of households wouldn’t have been so forgiving. So please, always remember to speak up if you have any questions! You don’t want your job slip sliding away from you! (See what we did there?!)
