Simple Tabber Example
Social Nannies

I recently met up with a friend who works at NYU Langone Medical Center. We walked around the complex and surrounding area before arriving at Robert Moses Playground. While at this playground she introduced me to a couple of nannies she befriended and the children they care after. As it turns out this clique of nannies have been gathering at this park with the children almost daily/semi daily. Robert Moses Playground as it turns out is a popular hub for nannies to bring the children they care for out to enjoy some social activity with other little ones and grab some fresh air as well. I asked if this was common in other parks as well, which was met with the response “Duh”. There are many NYC parks with their own daily nanny meet up groups. I’ve taken it upon myself to list a couple of the best parks NYC has to offer these social nanny groups.

1. Chelsea Waterside Playground (23rd Street & 11th Avenue)
This recently renovated park has a large toddler play area, a 22-foot-tall pipefish centerpiece housing a pair of slides, & an interactive water maze. The playground is right near the Hudson River adding to the ambience ( plenty of breezes off the water!). Not to mention other nearby amenities, such as The High Line and Chelsea Piers.

2. Heckscher Playground (Mid Central Park, 65th Street)
This park is Central Parks oldest. Open since 1927 & 1.8 acres large, this park offers a variety of fun zones such as large granite pyramid structures, sand pits, a large spider net for children to climb, as well as other old school swings and slides towards the south of the park. Once you leave the park you can jump on the Central Park Carousal located just outside the playground

3. Hippo Playground (Riverside Park & 91st Street)
Just a bit further uptown, this popular Upper West Side staple features attractions similar to its Central Park neighbor. A duo of play sets & swings accompanies the sandpit. Plus the Park House just outside has year round programming catered towards the city’s youth, responsible for hosting popular events such as the annual spring fair & the Halloween parade. This park ensures there are enough activities year round to keep the youth entertained.

While all the parks above are listed in Manhattan there are still dozens of other parks available to everyone outside the borough. For more information visit www.nycgovparks.org

Glenn Greenhouse
Glenn began in the “family business” more than 30 years ago, by coming to work for his Father, Martin Greenhouse. He often recounts how nervous he was, when at 19 years old his Father forced him to pick up the phone and speak with David Suskind. This was to be the first of dozens of phone calls and meetings to come for Glenn……with Celebrity Clientele. Glenn considers himself very fortunate to have spent his life working at a job he truly loves and as he puts it: “earn a comfortable living at the same time.”
